Infants

For children 6 weeks to 18 months, our emphasis is on providing:

  • Individualized, culturally responsive care
  • A safe and healthy environment
  • Rich language experiences
  • Generous allowance for child mobility and messy play
  • Mental and physical challenges
  • Frequent outdoor exposure

The most important ingredients in good care for babies are the quality of the staff who work with the children and the overall quality of the environment. Infants will not be confined, but will be permitted freedom of movement and provided with an environment that encourages them to roll, reach, creep, and crawl. Developmentally appropriate materials are widely available, such as cuddly toys, textural areas, objects to explore, push and pull toys, books, simple puzzles, and stacking toys. Music, singing, and finger plays are introduced throughout the day. Infants are never left in cribs or highchairs without staff supervision and stimulation.

Toddlers

Our Toddler Room offers children ages 18 months to 3 years an opportunity for free exploration of various sensory and tactile experiences. Children participate in art, sand and water play, creative movement and music, building, dramatic play, and reading.

Providing a daily routine that introduces new experiences in this creative environment enhances and nurtures your child’s sense of security, well-being, trust, and self-worth.

Teachers take an active role in assisting with toilet training. We provide a healthy combination of small and large group activities, plus lots of outside time.

Preschoolers

Our Preschool Room offers a learning/teaching environment for 3-5 year olds. The multi-aged grouping in the class affords younger children more experienced role models, and older children build self-confidence by becoming “teachers” and guiding the younger ones.

The Preschool Room provides a responsive environment that offers opportunities to participate in self-paced discovery play through involvement in language arts, science, music, math, cooking, dramatic play, creative art activities, and class trips. We allow your child to learn and develop at his or her own pace through actual hands-on experiences.
